OUR STORY
Originally a tollgate in 1790, jumped over by the infamous Foston on his horse, the building was first a brewery, a bottling house and finally a public house.

WILL, CHEF
Will bought the Foston’s Ash in early 2023. He grew up in the area but spent the previous 20 years honing his chef skills in various top restaurants and hotels in London. He always dreamed of returning to his roots and opening a country pub that serves locally sourced, quality produce.
Seasoned professional

HARRY, MANAGER
The General Manager, Harry, is an old friend of Will and a local himself, who has run venues nearby and around the world. Harry is passionate about running an independent, country pub that serves its community with a warm welcome.

FOSTON
The pub’s namesake was an infamous rogue who rode through the lanes late in the 18th century! Foston, who disliked paying tolls, would leap the ash tree tollgate on horseback to avoid the fee. Such was Foston’s gaul and notoriety that the building’s name has commemorated his antics ever since.
